Q. Any good leaders that you worked for? What did you learn from them?
A. I have been fortunate to have worked with some amazing leaders and mentors, each very different in their style and approach. But a common theme has been attention for detail and a non-compromising attitude. These individuals consistently set a high bar and never settled for less.
Of course, the best leaders have always had the knack to create a following – inspire people to achieve great heights versus just manage them.
Q. What are the key mistakes that you made that you think you should have avoided in hind-sight? Any learnings?
A. Looking back if there is one learning that I would extract, is to act sooner. Often due to fear of failure, people postpone or don’t act on an opportunity or desire. You mentioned leaders, someone I worked for once had told me, (and its stuck with me), “you miss 100% of the shots that you don’t take”.
