Job Description: Conducts or participates in multidisciplinary research in the design, development, testing and utilization of information processing hardware and/or electrical components, mechanisms, materials, and/or circuitry, processes, packaging, and cabinetry for central processing units (CPUs) and/or peripheral equipment. Prepares specifications, evaluates vendors, and analyzes test reports. Ensures products conform to standards and specifications. Develops plans and cost estimates and assesses projects to analyze risk. Develops procedures, analysis and design for computer components, products, and systems. Initiates, guides, and coordinates overall design and development of new ideas and products. Responds to customer/client requests or events as they occur. Develops solutions to problems utilizing formal education and judgement.

This spans all client device brands including hardware, software and connectivity ingredients for phones, tablets, Ultrabook™, All-in-Ones, 2 in 1 computing devices, and home gateways. -Excellent Communication Skills -Experience in system engineering of PC, phone or tablet devices – Linux or Windows experience is a major plus. -Must be able to communicate highly technical issues with internal teams and external customers. -Must demonstrate the ability to work within a team environment of significant ambiguity and rapidly changing requirements. -The candidate must have demonstrated systems PC, Phone or Tablet HW design experience and have a track record of delivering products to market. An ideal candidate may have led and authored system standards, must have a proven design systems track record in I/O, software stack, OSes, or thermal mechanical engineering, or board development. Must have experience deal with issues at the platform level. -Candidate must have demonstrated the ability to start with use case and user experience definitions and technically develop solutions to meet them; which resulted in viable products in the market.
