Job summary

The Red Hat Customer Platform team is looking for an Associate Technical Support Engineer Trainee to join us in Pune, India. In this role, you’ll join a team that works on building tools and services for customers to mitigate risks by taking advantage of the Red Hat Certification Ecosystem. You will have the opportunity to work alongside a team of software developers, quality assurance engineers, and product owners working toward a shared vision. You will work on new features and address existing defects and bugs in the assigned project.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Work with product owner and leads to understand use-cases and develop them into features
  • Build quick and iterative proof of concept features
  • Develop user interfaces and APIs that cater to specific stakeholders

Required skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, preferably engineering or computer science; equivalent professional experience will be also considered
  • 1+ year(s) of application development experience using Ruby, Ruby on Rails
  • User interface development experience on Rails (HAML, JQuery, CoffeeScript, SCSS or similar)
  • Familiarity with RDBMS and NoSQL
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and agile development environment

The following are considered a plus:

  • Prior participant and active community member in open source software projects like Fedora, OpenStack, or OpenShift
  • Experience with Docker
  • Experience in developing REST APIs
